[Weekend Summary]
Dear Member:
The markets were mixed for the week and the NASDAQ broke down through a recent support. While the sky isn't falling yet, a careful eye should be kept on the indices as we get closer to February which is often a lackluster month.
I finally dumped Emcore (EMKR) this week after it became apparent that it was not ready to move up.
I made a small profit on Transglobe Energy (TGA). I should note that I received an e-mail from a subscriber indicating that even though he made $.10 a share on the play, he lost four dollars overall because of commissions. I intend to devote next weekend's Newsletter article to the issue of commissions. I did profit on this play myself, and actually had a 19 cent a share gain.
Blackrock Senior Hi Income Fund (ARK) is doing great for a cheap stock both from the income and price appreciation standpoint.
Iamgold (IAG) rose nicely this week and is back in the vicinity of my entry.
Navios Maritime (BULK) is still above the uptrend line. I stayed in Healthtronics (HTRN) this week because it bounced back to the uptrend line and it remains along that line.
Mindspeed (MSPD) has been staying in its channel.
